50 states, 50 crazy-delicious ballpark foods

Move over, peanuts and Cracker Jack. There are so many more crazy delicious eats to be found at ballparks across the U.S. Forget the New York-style dirty water dog. (No disrespect to denizens of the Hudson River.) From Wrigley Field to PNC Park, and every ballpark in between, we've picked out the tastiest, most surprising and outrageous foods being served up at America's ball games.
We scoured stadium concessions and restaurant menus from all 50 states (and D.C.), that feed fans at major and minor league games, as well as at other sports venues across the country. What we found included belly-busting burgers, ballpark brunch, doughnut sandwiches, locally-inspired dishes, fresh sushi and, of course, every kind of hot dog imaginable.

Alabama
The Rocket City Trash Pandas, the Double-A minor league affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, have this wild snack on their menu. Behold: The Dumpster Wrap (see what they did there?).

The fan favorite includes two hot dogs, crispy fries, house-made chili, fried jalapeño caps and chipotle ranch Bandito sauce, all rolled into a cheesy quesadilla.
Alaska
Stay warm on those cold Alaska nights with a bowl of steaming hot pozole.

Blueline Pub in Anchorage, a restaurant at the O'Malley Sports Complex, serves this hearty Mexican stew. Don't expect to catch any live baseball at this sporty location — though the pub might have a game on TV.
The O'Malley Sports Complex is a full-service athletics facility with two ice rinks, a gym, an indoor track and a trampoline park next door.
Arizona
Phoenix's Chase Field is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks and this sweet treat, called a "churro dog."

The ballgame dessert features a churro topped with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate and caramel sauce, all perched in a hot dog bun.
Arkansas
Love funnel cake and hot dogs? Get a taste of both with the "funnel dog" from Springdale's Arvest Park. And, while you're there, you can also catch a few innings of Northwest Arkansas Naturals baseball. The team is the Double-A minor league affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.

The deep-fried delight is served covered in a flurry of powdered sugar.
California
L.A.'s Dodger Stadium is home to more than just its famous Dodger Dogs.

The ballpark often features specialty hot dogs, like this enchilada dog. This saucy item features a Super Dodger Dog wrapped in a cheese enchilada, and topped with smoked pork.
Colorado
Coors Field keeps Colorado Rockies fans fed — and then some — in the Denver stadium.

One popular stand, The Sandlot, offers sliced brisket sandwiches, smoked sausages, pulled pork, burnt ends, loaded baked potatoes, nachos, mac and cheese, coleslaw and more.
Connecticut
Fans of the Hartford Yard Goats, Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies: Be sure to grab a donut creation on your next visit to Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford.

Skip the boring ol' toasted bread. This bacon grilled cheese uses two glazed donuts to hold it all together.
Washington, D.C.
This sandwich from local restaurant group, Medium Rare, can be found at Nationals Park.

The sandwich features steak topped with fries and a special sauce.
Delaware
The Wilmington Blue Rocks are the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. The team's concessions menu has offered an item they dubbed the "Sweenie Donut Dog."

Introduced in 2015 -- it's not clear if it's still available as of 2021, but we hope so -- "baseball's sweetest weenie" features a doughnut wrapped around a hot dog, topped with raspberry jam and bacon. Yes, you read that right.
Florida
Sushi and ceviche? At a baseball game?! You can order both at Marlins Park in Miami.

SuViche Sushi offers a variety of flavorful sushi rolls, ceviches and other Peruvian-Japanese fusion specialties.
Georgia
Before the Atlanta Braves moved from Turner Field to Truist Park, they featured this limited-edition menu item for fans with iron stomachs.

The "Burgerizza" featured a 20-ounce beef patty, five slices of cheddar cheese and plenty of bacon, all sandwiched between two 8-inch pepperoni pizzas.
Hawaii
Aloha Stadium in Honolulu is a multi-purpose stadium that has hosted football, baseball, soccer and rugby games as well as concerts, graduations and other large events.

Before COVID-19 shut down all fan-attended activities at the stadium, food truck Dem Matas was frequently open nearby. The roaming truck offers local flavors such as their "Palolo Loco," their version of the Hawaiian favorite, loco moco. The dish includes garlic fried rice with pieces of smoked pork, topped with one egg, any style.
Idaho
Idaho's state capital is the home of the Boise Hawks, a Pioneer League team with no major league affiliate. If you find yourself at a Hawks game, you might try a Boise burger.

The 1/3 pound handmade burger is topped with melted American cheese, sautéed yellow onions, french fries and fry sauce.
Illinois
If there's two things Chicagoans love, it's Cubs baseball, and sandwiches from the Buona Italian beef chain.

Fortunately, Cubbies fans never have to choose one or the other: Wrigley Field offers Buona's Italian beef sub. Don't forget to grab some extra napkins before you bite into this au jus-doused masterpiece.
Indiana
Stouffer’s is the official mac and cheese of the MiLB, and you can order a bowl of its cheesy goodness at Victory Field in Indianapolis.

Victory Field is the home of the Indianapolis Indians, Triple-A affiliate for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Iowa
Is this heaven? No, it's Principal Park in Des Moines. Each year, the home of the Iowa Cubs (the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs) serves up tamales during MiLB's “Copa de la Diversión,” a league-wide celebration of Hispanic and Latino culture.

During the "Copa" events, the team adopts the moniker Los Demonios de Des Moines, and fans snack on concessions like burritos, tacos, tamales and more.
Kansas
A great hot dog doesn't need to be encased in a donut or covered with a fried egg to be delicious.

Wichita's Riverfront Stadium's concession stands offer ballpark franks with all the traditional fixings. While you're there, you can watch the Wichita Wind Surge play. They're the Double-A affiliate for the Minnesota Twins.
Kentucky
Louisville is famous for two contributions to the baseball canon: bats (of the Louisville Slugger variety) and Bats -- the Louisville Bats, that is. The team is the Triple-A affiliate in the Cincinnati Reds farm system, and they play at Louisville Slugger Stadium.

While you're in the neighborhood, try a fried bologna sandwich, served on a toasted bun and layered with cheese.
Louisiana
If you're going to a University of Louisiana at Lafayette baseball game, aim to go during the school's annual springtime pardoning of the crawfish.

Although one lucky crustacean is pardoned, his friends aren't so lucky. The campus throws a massive crawfish boil.
Maine
Hadlock Field in Portland is home to the Red Sox Double-A squad, the Portland Sea Dogs. And hungry Sea Dogs fans will find no shortage of seafood.

For example, the team added lobster popcorn — bite-sized pieces of lobster tossed with pieces of actual popcorn, served in a miniature Sea Dogs helmet — to its menu in 2019.
Maryland
The Baltimore Orioles mascot may be avian in nature, but fans at Camden Yards can really pig out on concession favorites like the Pigtown Stack.

This sandwich's bbq pork patty is topped with sweet mustard slaw, tobacco onions and pickles, and is served on a brioche long roll.
Massachusetts
Boston Red Sox fans, keep your eyes peeled for this surf and turf burger on concessions menus at Fenway Park.

The beef patty comes topped with cheese and is piled high with lobster.
Michigan
Not in the mood for one of Detroit's coney dogs? Check out this winning wiener from Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers.

This hot dog is topped with smoked pulled pork, pineapple relish, sriracha aioli and cojita cheese.
Minnesota
In 2016, the Minnesota Twins honored Korean designated hitter Park Byung-ho with his very own Park Byung-ho Day.

During the celebration, the Midwestern stadium sold Korean beer and deep-fried kimchi balls.
Mississippi
Trustmark Park, in the city of Pearl, is home to the Mississippi Braves, the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. It's also french fry heaven.

At this sizzling concessions stand, hungry park-goers can order french fries, tater tots and waffle fries with a variety of toppings.
Missouri
The St. Louis Cardinals' home base, Busch Stadium, has Kohn's "Killer Kosher Pastrami Sandwich & Salad" on their concessions menu.

Kohn's also offers the sandwich made with corned beef.
Montana
In 2020, Missoula PaddleHeads fans enjoyed an event called "dinner on the diamond." For $50 per person, the stadium provided socially distant seats and a meal to remember.

Each week, the stadium offered a new, expertly curated menu. One such feast included steak and lobster served with a baked potato and asparagus.
Nebraska
There's something about the simplicity of a traditional cheeseburger -- with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and a piping-hot pile of french fries -- that can't be beat.

Omaha Storm Chasers fans can go to Werner Park and order just such a cheeseburger.
Nevada
Head on over to the Las Vegas Ballpark, home of the Las Vegas Aviators, for an elote street corn hot dog.

Their beef hot dogs are wrapped in bacon, topped with homemade elote corn and garnished with crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Tajin.
New Hampshire
Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester is the home of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate to the Toronto Blue Jays. There, you can upgrade your average ballgame grub to something a little more sophisticated.

Concession favorites include lobster rolls, corn on the cob and slaw.
New Jersey
Yogi Berra Stadium, home of the Frontier League's New Jersey Jackals, holds a yearly food truck and craft beer festival.

Over 25 food trucks have attended, including local favorite, Carnivale Donut Bar. The food truck offers a donut-topped "Over the Top" shake.
New Mexico
The Albuquerque Isotopes are the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. And the stadium's concessions echo the cuisine that's popular throughout the state of New Mexico.

Isotopes Park's green chile cheeseburger is a fan favorite.
New York
Mets fans with access to the Promenade Club can treat themselves to Lil Sweet Chick, a fried chicken and waffles joint with its own concessions spot inside Citi Field.

Guests can order classic chicken (or Nashville style hot chicken) and waffles, a variety of fried chicken sandwiches and loaded crinkle-cut fries.
North Carolina
Truist Field, home to the Charlotte Knights, offers this cheesy creation to sports fans visiting the stadium.

Local restaurant Mac's Speed Shop sells its mac and cheese bowls topped with pulled meats.
North Dakota
If you're visiting Newman Outdoor Field for a Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks game, make sure to score some loaded nachos. It's sure to be a home-run nosh.

These cheesy chips are topped with sour cream, jalapeños and salsa and are served in a miniature helmet.
Ohio
Cincinnati Reds fans can enjoy Skyline's cheese coney dogs. These regionally famous creations include a hot dog in a steamed bun topped with mustard, chili, diced onions and a mound of shredded cheddar cheese.

You can also try Ohio's famous Skyline Cincinnati-style chili at Great American Ball Park.
Oklahoma
Tiff's Treats sells bakery goodies via a truck at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Oklahoma City stadium is the home of the Triple-A OKC Dodgers.

Tiff's menu includes cookies, brownies, ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, cookie truffles and more.
Oregon
The Hillsboro Hops are known for their over-the-top stadium eats. And if you swing by Ron Tonkin Field during their annual Disney Night celebration, you might be able to taste this weird and wonderful hot dog creation.

Yes, there is a beef hot dog — and a layer of crushed pineapple — under all that marshmallow fluff, gummy shapes, sprinkles, M&Ms and strawberry syrup.
Pennsylvania
If you're attending a Pittsburgh Pirates game, you may be tempted to try a "Pittsburgh Cone."

A "Pittsburgh Cone," for the brave and curious, is a waffle cone stuffed with kielbasa, pierogi, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut, topped with Russian dressing.
Rhode Island
The Ryan Center, a multi-purpose sports arena at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, offers many food options to satisfy game-day cravings.

At the East concession stand, Rams fans will find a variety of specialty hot dogs, including the Rhody Dog, Spice Dog, Old School Dog and the Ram Dog.
South Carolina
Greenville Drive fans really hit a home run with the food at Fluor Field.

Their menu includes foot-long, deep-fried hot dogs, Philly cheesesteaks, seafood sandwiches and loads of fries.
South Dakota
Some might call this snack a mall food-court favorite, but in South Dakota, it's just another day at the ballpark.

In 2018, the Sioux Falls Canaries designed concessions program around the visiting teams' respective mascots, an idea they dubbed the "Eat Your Opponent" special.
When the Lincoln Salt Dogs came to town, they sold baskets of mini pretzel dogs.
Tennessee
The Nashville Sounds are the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. And their home stadium, First Horizon Park, serves up a local specialty.

Crispy, spicy Nashville-style hot chicken is on the menu. You can also get your chicken with a side of waffle.
Texas
The Boomstick hot dog at the Texas Rangers' Globe Life Park went viral in 2020, when the Dodgers and Rays played the entire World Series at the Arlington stadium, but this monstrous dog has been around since at least 2012.

The three-pound, 2-foot-long wiener is smothered in jalapenos, cheese sauce, onions and chili.
Utah
What do you call a hot dog that isn't yours? Nacho dog.

But if you're attending a Salt Lake Bees game at Smith's Ballpark, a nacho dog could indeed be yours. The ballpark frank is topped with melted cheese, meat, black beans, salsa, jalapeños, sour cream and tortilla chips.
Vermont
Centennial Field Ballpark in Burlington occasionally serves brunch at their ballgames.

During select games each season, the Vermont Lake Monsters rebrand as "The Maple Kings." In support of their maple moniker, they offer pancakes (and syrup, of course).
Virginia
The Norfolk Tides baseball club at Harbor Park Stadium offers the "Salute To Pork Challenge." This big pig situation is served up to brave guests throughout the season at Hits at the Park, a restaurant at the end of the first base concourse.

The rules of the challenge are thus: If you can demolish four pulled-pork BBQ sliders, four Cajun-smoked sausages, 12 Smithfield pork "wings," a pile of Smithfield bacon, a small mountain of chili-cheese tots and a side of coleslaw in under an hour, you get tickets to a future game, a T-shirt and your photo on the "Big Pig Wall-O-Fame."
If you accept the challenge and can't finish, you only have to pay half price but your picture will go on the "Little Piggy Wall-O-Shame."
Washington
During select games throughout the season, ice cream chain Salt & Straw sells this seasonal flavor, called "Creepy Crawly Critters," at Seattle Mariners games.

The treat features matcha ice cream swirled with toffee-brittle mealworms. According to MLB, the freaky frozen food is a nod to T-Mobile Park’s other favorite treat, chocolate covered grasshoppers.
West Virginia
Charleston restaurant, Ristorante Abruzzi, has a full patio and bar overlooking Appalachian Power Park, where the West Virginia Power play.

Diners can order pizzas, pastas and other Italian food favorites while they take in a game.
Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, High-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, have had some far-out menu items through the years, but this one takes the cake — the funnel cake.

Meet the "Big Mother Funnel." The sandwich (if you can call it that) is a 1-pound burger topped with eight slices of bacon, a half-pound of cheese and lettuce, all held together with two funnel cakes.
Wyoming
Forget the Cracker Jack. The University of Wyoming is all about fresh-made kettle corn.

Laramie-area vendor Cowboy Kettle Corn has described their popular snack as "slightly sweet and salty popcorn made in a kettle."
